How to Choose a Asus Laptop Screen: Glossy or Matte
1. Determine where you will be using your laptop most.
Why? Because matte and glossy finish behave very differently depending on which environment you are in. A glossy Asus screen is highly reflective of bright lights and high-contrast backgrounds, which may greatly disrupt your viewing experience. However, matte screens produce a more diffuse glare which is can be very problematic in outdoor areas.
2. Determine how you will be using your laptop, and what is important.
Depending on the Asus laptop screen finish you choose, the vibrancy of the colors as well as the richness and variety of the tones will differ in between a glossy and matte screen. Thus a glossy screen will output higher levels of vibrancy whereas a matte screen tends make the display look more dull. That being said, a glossy screen often exaggerates the richness in color (and sometimes beauty) of the original document. For that reason, I recommend a matte display for photographers and designers who's focus is on the output of the computer.
3. glossy/matte - Ups and Downs.
Ups: Very rich and vibrant colors, better for outdoor laptop use, blacker blacks, WOW factor for good looks.
Downs: Very reflective in certain environments especially in office or other settings where there are lamps and lights placed within the reflected area, attracts fingerprints, hard to position to avoid reflections, hard to accurately edit photography and film
4. matte/glossy - Ups and Downs.
Ups: Much better for indoor use, easier on the eyes, accurately displays how your photo/film/design should appear
Downs: Less luminosity and color vibrancy, poor outdoor performance, lower contrast
5.Make the decision.
